As your Member of Parliament from 2011 to 2015, I worked hard to bring real results to Elmwood-Transcona. I helped secure over $58 million in funding to support various community infrastructure projects, including the Disraeli Bridge and the Transcona Centennial Square. I fought for the funding to construct the Plessis Underpass, which has eased transportation challenges in the community. I also worked diligently to bring in over $6.3 million in funding for local organizations that provide valuable programming and support to our community.
Prior to being a Member of Parliament, I was a partner in a second-generation family-owned company, Premier Printing, here in Transcona. This small business employed over 80 full-time employees and hired over 100 students each summer during our peak production season. I am a lifelong resident of the riding and have been married to Marilyn for 32 years, whose great-grandfather John W. Gunn was a key figure in the early development of this riding. Together we are proud parents and grandparents of four children and six grandchildren.
While I had returned to private life many people of the riding have appealed to my love of this community and prevailed upon me to again seek your support as the Member of Parliament for our area and once again get real results.
